Within the scope of the TÜBİTAK-supported project titled "Establishing Content and Index Criteria for Scientific and Artistic Video Articles," the event "Digital Transformation in Academic Publishing: Video Article Publishing in Science and Arts" was organized under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Hülya Önal and held at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMÜ) Faculty of Communication.

The event brought together stakeholders specializing in academic publishing, academicians, and leading industry representatives. Among the participants were Esra Bahşi, Turkey Representative of Peter Lang; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sercan Karav, Dean of Research; Hüseyin Akçay from Yonca Technology; Prof. Dr. Yunus Eryaman, President of the World Education Research Association and editor at international publishing houses; Dr. Kerim Sarıgül, Academic Publishing Consultant; Sibel Tabanlıoğlu from TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM TR Dizin; Didem Aydan from TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM DergiPark; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Filiz Mutlu, Scientific Publications and Journals Coordinator at ÇOMÜ.

The event focused on the role and significance of the audiovisual article format in academia. Discussions included indexing video articles, necessary infrastructure adjustments, and the future of this publication format. Additionally, innovative academic publishing approaches and strategic recommendations for the adoption of the video article format were explored.

Emphasizing the importance of digital transformation in academic publishing, the event highlighted the potential of new publication formats in scientific and artistic production. Participants reached a consensus on fostering collaboration and innovative approaches in the field.

The outcomes of the event are expected to provide guidance on adopting more effective and innovative methods in academic publishing.
