Scientific Publications and Journals Coordinatorship was established with the instruction of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Rector Prof. Dr. R. Cüneyt Erenoğlu in order to establish responsible, fair, transparent and accountable standards to increase the quality of publications by gathering scientific publications produced within Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University under a single roof and to monitor developments related to them.

Scientific Publications and Journals Coordinatorship held its first meeting under the chairmanship of Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Dinçay Köksal and Coordinator Dr. Filiz Mutlu. At the meeting, the general situation of scientific publications within COMU was evaluated and strategies for continuous improvement, especially the objectives of the coordinatorship, working policies and distribution of duties, were determined.
